Time is one thing that God gave to every man equally. Everyone has equal right to use it at any point in time. Time most times, determines the Level of success one attains. Time is a valuable asset that can be bought, it can also be exhausted. Time in this context, is classified into two different types, the Initial time and the Extra time.
The Classification of Time
The Initial time: is the type of time that everyone has in equal proportion. It is not given based on tribe, qualification, age, etc. Initial time is the 24hours in a day, 168hours in a week, 744hours in a month and 8760hours in a year.
Extra time: is the type of time that can be bought or achieved. It is measured by need. It is further classified into Buyable extra time and graceful extra time. Buyable extra time is when you pay someone for using his or her time to your own advantage. For example, let’s say I’m in school and also engaged in a stock business. I can pay someone to do the business for me while I’m busy with school. That way I’m not loosing out but still making effective use of my time.
The Graceful Time
Now, the type of Time I’ll actually focus on today is the Graceful time. It is the type of time given not based on persons worth, level or standard but it is given out of Love. It is limitless. It is not initiated by human beings, it is only initiated by God. Everybody in one way or the other qualifies for this type of Time.
A friend of mine shared a story of how She got to write an exam she missed and thought she wouldn’t get the opportunity to write again. According to her, she was sick on the exam day so she couldn’t write the exam. For the fact that she didn’t inform her Lecturer about it before deciding not to write it got her worried. A week after the scheduled date for the exam they got an information that everyone will rewrite the exam because they noticed there were a lot of missing scripts. That’s how she got to finally write the exam. This is an example of graceful extra time. It wouldn’t have just happened, but it happened, some people call it second chance. I remember several times I thought I missed out in something and wouldn’t get the opportunity to do it again because the time for it have exhausted but somehow I find myself doing it later. Grace gives us extra time, extra opportunity, when our initial time exhausts.
God’s Perfect Time
Let’s look at the story of Lazarus in the book of John 11 Vs 1- 45. Notice that Jesus did not go to meet Lazarus when he was still sick, he stayed for some days before going, even when he went Lazarus’ sisters were already blaming him for not showing up at the right time and that Lazarus wouldn’t have died if he came at the right time. Yes they were blaming him because they believe in the adage that says that there is time for everything. You can agree with me that the right time to help a man is when he’s still alive not when he’s already dead.
A Doctor will give a living man drugs not a dead man but the way of God is quite different from the ways of men. Jesus Knowing fully well that even though the time he was supposed to be there has passed believed that graceful time will save Lazarus. And it actually did save him. There is something he wanted us to understand. God seeing how often we do struggle to make effective use of initial time, wants us to not totally depend on the initial time but to also believe in the time that grace brings. Graceful time sets in immediately initial time exhausts. Having this basic knowledge we ought not to be scared of whether time exhausts or not, we just have to have faith and believe that at the appointed graceful time, everything will work out fine.
Why then do you worry that what you are expecting has not happened? Why worry that you are of age and you haven’t attained a certain level? Why worry that it didn’t happen now? Of course it will still happen. Once you know that you are not wasting time but that you are making good use of your time, don’t panic rather be at peace for graceful time will be made available for you at the point of need. Life is not a war. Don’t keep fighting all the time. Take things one at a time.Show love to everyone, stay at peace and believe in the perfect time which sets everything right. Though it doesn’t seem like it’s gonna happen again, believe in graceful time which will always be made available for you by God.
