I read recently that more than a million people die each week. Think about it. You made it into another week! You’re better off than a million people. You can thank God that you are alive. The article also said that if you have a roof over your head, you are better off than 75 percent of the world’s population. And if you have fifteen dollars to your name, you are in the top eight percent of the worlds wealthiest people – fifteen Dollars!
Psalms 34:1 then said i will bless the lord at all times and his praise will continually be in my mouth. That was the lifestyle of King David, a lifestyle of thanksgiving and praise. Even in the midst of negative situations and disappointment, he kept on praising God continually.
I read a poem that said: I am thankful for the taxes I pay everyday because it means I have a job. I am thankful for the mess I have to clean up after the party because it means I have friends . I am thankful for the lawn i have to mow, the windows that needs cleaning, and the gutters that need repair because they mean I have a home. I am thankful for sore muscles and for weariness at the end of the day because it means i was able to work hard. I am thankful for the lady behind me in church who sings off key because that means I can hear. And I am thankful for the alarm that goes off early in the morning because that means I’m still alive. It’s all about your perspective. Keep the right perspective.
Twenty years from now, we will look back and remember these as the good old days. Let me encourage you to enjoy the moment, make memories with those you love. Take time for people God has given you and be thankful for each of them. Have a blessed day.
